Jonathan and Ashley Hawk
Jonathan Hawk: Director and Co-Founder of Disciple Thailand Ministries
Jonathan grew up in the Imperial Valley on a farm outside the town of Holtville in California. After graduating high school he went to San Diego Christian College where he graduated with a business degree. Convinced the Lord was calling him away from the work force and into ministry he moved to North Carolina and enrolled in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. After graduation he moved to Thailand for a year to minister at Abba House; an underprivileged home that ministered to ex-prostitutes and underprivileged girls from the mountains. It was here that he met Sangla who had been serving as the manager of the home for 7 years. While he lived in Thailand he saw many who claimed to be Christians but few were truly being discipled and making a difference. In order to combat this they both opened a discipleship house called Hannah House in 2009. In 2015 Jonathan married Ashley and continued the work together in Thailand. In the summer of 2019 they moved back to the States after feeling the Lord had prepared Pin and other Thai leaders to take over the ministry. Jonathan is now a discipleship pastor at Christ Community Church while still overseeing the ministry in Thailand.

Ashley grew up in Moore, OK; many may know this as tornado capital of the USA. She was raised by a single mom as the middle of three children. Throughout high school Ashley worked hard in a retail position to help with bills while attending a vocational school to become certified in accounting. Shortly after she became a high school graduate Ashley obtained many certifications in the accounting field and pursued a profession in medical administration. During this time she actively went to Frontline Church. At Frontline she went through training schools on the Gospel and was the children’s leader for their service at the local homeless shelter. Every week for six years Ashley discipled and taught the children about Jesus and the Gospel. In 2013 Ashley felt like God was calling her to attend a new church, Antioch, to go through their training school. She went through a ten month training school of intense discipleship and equipping of the Gospel while attending Antioch. It was there where Ashley and Jon met. Ashley continued serving at the homeless shelter and working full time at the University of Oklahoma Cancer Center until the end of September of 2014. In October of 2014 Ashley quit her job and left Oklahoma to follow the call of God on her life in serving people.
